Covered in knees!
Aug. 26th, 2004 06:25 pmWell, more news from the front. Spent the afternoon at Her Majesty's pleasure; that's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Hours upon hours of sitting in waiting rooms, had my knee poked prodded, my legs pulled and X-rays taken. It appears I have a Meniscal Tear, although the doctor that diagnosed this had to go and look it up, after initially diagnosing it as a "like a knee hernia", which didn't exactly fill me with confidence. I have to go back into hospital tomorrow morning to get it seen by a specialist who will hopefully be able to tell me whether or not it actually requires surgery. I'm hoping not. The NHS is so screwed; it shouldn't take me a week to diagnose and recieve some treatment for a knee injury. This is nuts.
What did keep me entertained though was the scary amount of Chavs that I saw, including the family that had every member wearing a chunky gold plated chain round their neck, even the two ~10 year olds.
And TCM are showing the full 4 hours of Ben Hur tonight. That's my Thursday sorted.
